Step 1: Apply
Students can submit an application through UCAS, using the appropriate UCAS Course Code (which you can find on our course pages) or directly through our website.
You will be required to write a personal statement with your application. Your personal statement is a chance to get noticed for the unique talents and experiences you have. It’s an important part of the application process as it’s an opportunity to talk about yourself and your passions, outside of your grades.
Step 2: Portfolio Submission
You will be required to submit a portfolio of work as part of your application. The Central Film School admissions team will send out instructions on how to submit this once you have completed your application.
Tips on your visual portfolio can be found here
Step 3: Interview
Once you pass all of the initial admissions assessments, you will be invited to a virtual interview conducted by a senior member of staff at the School. Interviews will be held via Zoom.
Tips on how to prepare for your interview can be found here.
Step 4: Offers
If your application is successful, you’ll either be made a ‘conditional’ or ‘unconditional’ offer.
A ‘Conditional’ offer means that your place is pending until we receive any further information required, such as exam results and certificates.
An ‘Unconditional’ offer means that you have met the entry criteria for the course.
Step 5: Confirm your place
You can confirm your place through your UCAS Hub or by e-signing your offer email (for direct applicants). It’s then up to you to confirm your place. Once you have accepted the offer, our Admissions Team will be in touch with further guidance and information where applicable.

For students who are applying for funding, you will be required to complete a funding form.
Step 2: Offer
If your application is successful, you will receive an offer of study from our Admissions team.
Step 3: Deposit
In order to secure your place on our short courses, you will need to pay a deposit (amount outlined on each individual course page), which will go towards your fees. The remaining fees are due as stated in your invoice (subject to application timescale).
For our weekend and online courses, you will have to pay for this directly on the course page. If you’d like more information on this or about your application, please speak to our admissions team.
Where appropriate, give us some context for your visual portfolio, outlining why your submitted these particular pieces.
You can tell us this in a separate statement or include it in your personal statement, but be sure to highlight why this is the best of your work and a true representation of you.
