What is Clearing?

Clearing is an opportunity for students who have not secured a place in a university or college to find alternative courses or institutions that still have vacancies. It can be useful for those who have changed their mind about their course or institution, or for those who have decided to apply to university after the initial application deadline has passed.

Our Undergraduate Programmes

At Central Film School, you can choose to complete your undergraduate degree in either two or three years.

Each pathway is specifically designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in the screen industry, whether you’re looking for a fast-tracked route or a more in-depth journey

3 year degrees

Entry Requirements: To apply for our 3 year degrees, you’ll need a minimum of 32 UCAS points.

This programme will allow you to find your own specialism and voice as a filmmaker, as you learn and practice a range of skills essential to the film industry.

This programme will develop your creative and performance skills allowing you to develop your confidence as an actor for screen.

As you learn to write for a range of platforms, this programme will focus and develop your creative voice and writing style as a screenwriter.

This course provides aspiring filmmakers with the technical skills and knowledge needed to prepare you for a successful career in the screen industries.

2 year accelerated degrees

 

Entry Requirements: To apply for our 2-year accelerated degrees, you’ll need a minimum of 96 UCAS points.

In addition to UCAS points, applicants for our accelerated degrees are also required to submit a visual portfolio. 

For BA Post-Production & VFX this can either be: 

  • A short film (2–3 minutes)

  • A showreel (2–3 minutes)

 

In addition to UCAS points, applicants for our accelerated degrees are also required to submit a visual portfolio. 

For BA Screenwriting this can either be:

  • A script (3–5 pages in length)

  • A creative essay or a storyboard/moodboard

Accommodation

To offer students a fantastic accommodation option while studying with us, we have partnered with Finddigs. Finddigs are specialists in providing accommodation for local and international students. We have reserved rooms for our students to book in their Cedar Hall  Student Residence and Furzedown Student Village, both located in Tooting.
