At Central Film School, we are dedicated to nurturing creative talents as they work to build successful careers in the screen industries. To support the diverse voices within the CFS community, we have invested in four fully-funded scholarships, offering deserving students the resources they need to excel in their craft.

CFS Global Lens Scholarship

What is the Global Lens Scholarship?

Central Film School’s Global Lens Scholarship supports and celebrates exceptional international talent, empowering the next generation of global filmmakers to make a positive impact on the world through their creative vision and storytelling.

Offering a 100% reduction in tuition fees for the recipient’s first and (where applicable) second years of study, the two scholarships are designed to champion international filmmakers with outstanding potential and a desire to contribute to the growth of the screen industries in their home countries. 

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the Global Lens Scholarship, applicants must have applied to a postgraduate programme at Central Film School commencing in September 2025 and be from outside the United Kingdom or Ireland.

How can I apply?

The application process for the Global Lens Scholarship consists of two rounds. First-round applicants are required to submit a 2-3 minute self tape in which they discuss the following points:

  • What do you consider your greatest achievement to date?
  • What challenges have you faced to get to where you are today, and how did you overcome them?
  • What are your objectives after you graduate from Central Film School?
  • How might the Access & Equity Scholarship help you achieve these objectives?

Successful round-one applicants will be invited to submit a creative project plan for the second round. Further details will be disclosed in the second-round brief.

CFS Access & Equity Scholarship

What is the Access & Equity Scholarship?

Central Film School’s Access and Equity Scholarship forms a key part of our mission to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds unlock their full potential and make a lasting impact in the screen industries.

These two prestigious scholarships offer a 100% reduction in tuition fees for the recipients’ first and second years of study, providing vital financial assistance to those who may face barriers to accessing higher education.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the Access and Equity Scholarship, applicants must have applied to an undergraduate programme at Central Film School commencing in September 2025 and be from the United Kingdom or Ireland. They must also meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Live in a POLAR4 Q1 or Q2 postcode
  • Be a recipient of free school meals at present or during secondary education
  • Have been in the care of the local authority for at least 13 weeks since the age of 16, as set out by The Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000
  • Have been granted refugee status
  • Has undertaken caring responsibilities while they were studying their highest qualification or directly before their application to study at Central Film School
