Central Film School provides students with all the facilities and equipment they’ll need on their learning journey. Depending on the needs of specific shoots and programme modules, students will also have access to off-site facilities and spaces.
Full Motion Capture technology has now been installed at Central Film School. This allows students to expand their stories into the virtual world, bridging the gap between traditional filmmaking and digital innovation.
This hands-on experience not only empowers students to create more realistic and dynamic characters, but also prepares them for the evolving landscape of the entertainment industry, where motion capture plays a pivotal role.
We have a range of cameras for our students to use depending on their needs and expertise. Starting with the Canon EOS C100, students progress to advanced cameras like the C300, BlackMagic 4K Cinema Camera and the Arri ALEXA – BA Practical Filmmaking students have the opportunity to use the ARRI SRIII Super 16mm. We offer comprehensive training on a range of sound and lighting kits, fostering cohesive crew operation throughout productions.
At Central Film School we have two professional studios. Studio A is our larger studio, and is also a functional screening theatre with retractable seats and a full-size projector screen. Both studios are fully equipped to become anything the script might call for. Professional rigging and the freedom for students to build any set imaginable has allowed it to become a space station, a fortune-teller’s tent, and a Parisian cafe.
Our post-production facilities were fully updated in 2023. Our Edit Suite features 20 Mac Mini M1 computers with dual-screen monitors, accessible to all students. The post-production zone includes the Hero Suite, Colour Grading Zone, Additional Dialogue Recording and Mixing Studio. Central Film School ensures that our students have access to the tools necessary to bring their creative visions to life with precision and professionalism.
We train our filmmakers to work with industry standard software throughout production.
