Our first term was a whirlwind of creativity, celebration, and cinematic exploration at Central Film School. From community festivals to thought-provoking screenings, we’ve had an eventful few months filled with opportunities to engage with the local community and reflect on significant cultural moments. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights.
Lambeth Fringe Festival: A Celebration of Local Talent
We were thrilled to participate in this year’s Lambeth Fringe Festival, where creativity took centre stage right in the heart of our community. We hosted a wide range of productions including our very own sold out showing of our student led play ‘This Changes Everything’ by Joel Horwood.
The buzz around the campus was electric, and we look forward to continuing our involvement in this fantastic celebration of local arts and culture.

Inspiring Conversations at the Create Your Future UCAS Events
Our marketing and recruitment teams had an inspiring couple of days at both the Create Your Future London and Manchester UCAS events. It was wonderful to meet so many future filmmakers eager to start their journey in the world of film.
We had great conversations about our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, shared insights on the screen industry, and provided guidance on how students can begin their creative careers at CFS. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand and took the time to connect with us!

A Successful Open Day at Central Film School
Our October Open Day was a huge success, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended! It was an exciting and inspiring day filled with engaging conversations, insightful presentations, and the first Open Day since the launch of our two new courses MA Virtual Production and BA Post Production & VFX
The day featured a series of workshops and talks led by our expert faculty. Attendees gained first-hand insights into the craft of filmmaking, from screenwriting and directing to cinematography to acting and post-production. These were followed by campus tours and ending in a student panel, giving attendees an opportunity to ask questions to people who are currently/graduating from us.
Missed this one? Not to worry we have regular campus tours throughout the year with tickets available right now, so book in early to see our Clapham campus first hand!

Black History Month Screening: Atlantics
Our Black History Month screening of Atlantics on October 30th was an impactful and moving experience. The film, with its powerful exploration of migration, loss, and resilience, sparked deep discussions among attendees.
We were honoured to share this unique cinematic voice and provide a platform for important conversations around the themes of the film. The turnout and engagement were fantastic, reinforcing the significance of diverse storytelling in film.
Class of 2024 Graduation: Celebrating the Filmmakers of Tomorrow
The Class of 2024 from Central Film School celebrated their graduation with a memorable ceremony at BFI Southbank, a historic venue central to British cinema. The event marked the culmination of years of dedication, creativity, and collaboration, with graduates honored for their hard work and the bright futures ahead.
The ceremony featured an inspiring address from the Head of School, followed by a film screening showcasing the graduates’ final projects, which spanned a variety of genres and styles. The audience were in awe of these talented filmmakers, whose projects embody the innovation and daring spirit that are shaping the future of cinema.
A special thanks to the Carlie Tufnell Spark Fund for their generous support, and to Charlotte Ainsworth, the winner of this year’s award, who shared her excitement for her upcoming project. As our graduates move on to the professional world, Central Film School looks forward to seeing their journey unfold, encouraging them to stay connected and inspire future filmmakers. With their creativity and passion, the Class of 2024 is poised to leave a lasting impact on the screen industry.
