Future Filmmakers Summer Camp 2025
What was your highlight of the whole experience?
Paniyota – The highlight of the whole experience was meeting and becoming friends with all the teenagers that decided to attend. But also having the opportunity to have lessons with amazing professors such as Ben Hampton, and of course, meeting the very welcoming and friendly CFS team.
Tristan – Not a specific key moment, but I love how we as a group grew so close. In the beginning it felt a bit uncomfortable; we were all from different countries and we were all quite timid. But then we felt through conversation how we all shared that passion. Most had never been able to share that passion and talk about it with people around our age.
There were a couple key moments where we grew closer and closer. For example the moment we had to pitch our stories.
Now we’re still often in contact and some of us have even seen each other again, when coincidentally visiting each other’s country.

Was there a particular day that you enjoyed the most?
Panayiota – The day/ lesson I enjoyed the most was definitely the one where we got to use all the equipment, especially the cameras. We had the chance to experiment with different cameras and work together as a team in order to learn.
Tristan – For the whole trip, it was the last night where we really embraced our company and cherished our final moments with each other.
For the filmmaking aspect, it was the final editing day. It was the day I realized that editing, the aspect I had the most experience in, was in fact the aspect of filmmaking I love the most. This day changed my life and allowed me to choose to study at film school RITCS (where you had to choose a specific filmmaking aspect from year one; I chose editing), instead of going to a school which was more of a base filmmaking program focusing on every aspect. During this summer camp I could get to know every aspect, and therefore make a choice on what I love most.
It was also the day we could watch proudly at what we made, the result of our teamwork. We all got along incredibly well at that point, which made the atmosphere in the editing cell awesome.
What advice would you give to someone looking to take part this year?
If you are thinking about joining the camp this year, I would definitely recommend that you do it. You will have the most amazing time, especially if you love filmmaking and want to learn more about the industry.
If you had to sum up the experience in three words what would they be?
Fun-filled, creative and unforgettable!

Tristan – Open up from day one. It can be incredibly intimidating, but you will 100% not regret it. Allow yourself to connect with your fellow filmmakers and make the most out of it.
You are there to learn, you don’t have to have it all figured out yet, but this camp will most certainly help you figure out your craft and future.
