Young Filmmakers Summer School

This 1-week course will serve as a perfect starting point for the creation of Visual Portfolios, supporting students who wish to study filmmaking or screenwriting at Film School.

Through practical experimentation, you will be given the chance to experience Central Film School in a fun and creative environment.

Selection Criteria

We priorities students who apply based on the following criteria:

1. A link to a short, up to 5 minutes, video outlining your motivation to study Filmmaking or Screenwriting

2. The following students will be prioritised:

Students who have been in the care of a Local Authority since the age of 16

Students living in a Polar 4 Quintile 1 or Quintile 2 postcode, check your postcode here

Students living in the London Boroughs of Croydon, Greenwich, Hackney, Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham and Tower Hamlets.

3. Currently in Year 12, or equivalent, at the point of application

I’ve learned a lot, mainly about all the different roles on the film set and what they all involve and how even if you think that your role is quite small, is actually very important. I think the teachers are all really helpful and I really enjoyed it. My favourite part is operating the camera.
