Central Film School welcomes students with all types of entry qualifications to our courses. Below you will find examples of the minimum qualifications we accept. If your course is not listed or you are classified as a mature student please contact us and a member of our team will be happy to discuss your options with you.

A level:
A minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade CC
T Level:
A minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade Pass
Scottish Advanced Higher (SQA)
Scottish Advance higher a minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade D, D
Scottish Highers our equivalent of a minimum of 64 points would require a B,C,C
Welsh Joint Education Committee:
WJEC Level 3 Applied Diploma (graded A* – E) we would require Grade C,C
BTEC (RQF) 2016:
Pearsons BTEC Level 3 National Diploma a minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade MM
Pearsons BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma a minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade MPP
BTEC (QCF) 2010:
Pearson BTEC Diploma (QCF) a minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade MM
Pearson BTEC Extended Diploma (QCF) a minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade MPP
City and Guilds:
City and Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma (720) a minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade M
City and Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma (720) (2019 onwards) A
minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade MM
OCR:
OCR Cambridge Technical Diploma a minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade MM
OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma a minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade MPP
RSL:
RSL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Digital Media a minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade M
RSL Level 3 Extended Diploma for Music Practitioners a minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Grade M
UAL:
UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma we would require a Grade Pass
Access to HE Diploma:
A minimum of 64 points is equivalent to 15 Credits at Merit, 30 credits at Pass
International Baccalaureate:
A minimum of 64 points is equivalent to Higher Level 5,5 or Standard 5,5,5,5 or a combination of Higher and standard for example H5,S5, S5
Foundation years:
We accept a wide range of Foundation years as entry on to our Undergraduate courses, Foundation years will be assessed on a case by case basis by our admissions team however in general we require a PASS grade from a foundation year.
Access to HE Diploma:
A minimum of 64 points is equivalent to 15 Credits at Merit, 30 credits at Pass
For undergraduate courses mature students are classified as students who are over the age of 21 at the beginning of their studies. In some cases you may be a mature student who does not hold our minimum entry requirements or your qualifications are no longer valid/available/grading systems have changed. In these instances we would still encourage you to apply and applications will be assessed on a case by case basis by our admissions team, usually through our Accreditation of Prior Learning form.
Stories can be factual or fiction, we accept documentary, documentary-style as well as fictional pieces.

Where appropriate, give us some context for your visual portfolio, outlining why your submitted these particular pieces.
You can tell us this in a separate statement or include it in your personal statement, but be sure to highlight why this is the best of your work and a true representation of you.
If you have technical ability, demonstrate this through your showreel,or a scriptwriter, through your writing, but most importantly, we want to get an idea of your voice.
